Curtain Designs

Here at Milloe we have decades of experience in hand-crafting a variety of curtain styles, tailored to your designs. Our skilled workroom team can fashion bespoke curtains, from timeless triple pleats to contemporary wave headings. If you would like to further detail your curtains, we offer trimmings and extra embellishments.

Hand Headings

Hand headings are a traditional approach for your curtains. In the design process, our team ensure the depth and spacing of the pleats suit the intended space. We further consider the ratio of the window and stacked back curtain pleats, in addition with the fullness of the curtain when drawn closed.

Triple Pleats

Triple pleat curtains are where each fold in the heading is divided into 3 pleats. This design has always been a popular option – it’s not surprising, since it allows for fullness and give elegance to your window.

Double Pleats

Double pleat curtains are where a fold in the heading is divided into 2 pleats and are a much-loved choice. This style is a simpler version of the triple pleat design and so produces a slimmer appearance.

Goblet Pleats

Goblet pleats are pinched at the base and stuffed to hold their shape. This decorative choice brings theatre to your window, and offers a wonderful opportunity to exhibit the fabric.

Fuss/ Free Headings

Looking for something without the need for pleating along the top of a curtain? Here are a couple of ideas.

Wave Heading

Wave Heading

Wave or Ripple headings are where the fabric at the top is sent back and forth to create a ripple. This contemporary heading is ever so popular and is particularly good for large windows such as bi-fold doors. The effect is created by the right combination of curtain tape, gliders and a lot of maths!

Eyelet Heading

Eyelet headings are a stylish and modern choice for a streamlined finish. Rather than using curtain rings, the metal eyelets are built into the top of the curtain so that it can glide along the pole. The metal eyelet headings are available in many finishes, so you can match them to your pole for a coordinated look or why not choose a contrasting colour!

Informal Headings

Every window, house, and design scheme is different, so these more informal headings give a softer look.

Puff Heading

Puff headings have been returning to prominence, bringing a soft appearance to fill your window space with gorgeous fabric. These headings are a suitable design for curtains which sit at a lower eye-level, such as in cottages and older properties, and are further wonderful when paired with small-print fabrics. We produce this heading by implementing a stab stitching technique to combine narrow curtain tape with interlining and netting, to develop the puff effect.

Machine Pencil Pleat Heading

The machine pencil pleat is a tape which is machine-sewn on the back of the curtain and drawn in with cords to create the gathering. This style is useful for simple bedroom curtains, cottage pleats, and apex windows.

Flap Over Heading

This very decorative heading can really add drama and bring a scheme together. We just love this softness of this heading, which allows you to play with colours and textures. In this photo a tape has been used, and this is the most popular. However, if you would like a bit more structure it can also be done with a more formal pleating such as triple or doubles.

Trimmings

So you have decided on the fabric and the heading but do not forget we offer a variety of trimmings and linings to adorn your curtains. what we produce is individual to each project you have. You can use all sorts of : fringes, piping, contrast band, beading, contrast lining, buttons and so on and so on.
